Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I came to Madison for undergrad and fell in love with the city. When I’m not at CrossFit, I enjoy rock climbing, hot yoga, playing piano, playing video games, and hanging with friends. I’m curious about everything; so I love learning about new people, places, and things. I am terrible at pop culture, and periodically discover amazing artists or movie stars that others have known about for decades.

Why did you choose Recursive?
In the middle of Covid, my friend and I decided we needed to counteract our couch-potato lifestyles. Moreover, my brother spoke effusively of his CrossFit experiences. So my friend and I tried out Recursive and haven’t looked back.

What was the biggest struggle you’ve had the last few months?
Flexibility. Several CrossFit exercises are challenging, not just because they require strength or coordination, but also because they require a certain level of flexibility. As someone with a dearth of flexibility, I’ve had to work a lot at increasing my range of motion.

What is your biggest accomplishment since starting your commitment to a lifestyle change?
That I’ve kept with it. Consistency and commitment are key, even on the days I don’t want to show up.

How has Recursive changed your life?
I sleep better, eat healthier, my knees hurt less, and my brain is clearer than ever. I have more energy and enjoy my life more than before I joined Recursive.

Name 1-3 things you have lost using Recursive’s Nutrition Program.
I lost the perception that indulging every once in a while is bad. And I also lost weight!

Name 1-3 things you have gained using Recursive’s Nutrition Program.
I gained greater knowledge about what I needed to consume to achieve my goals (turns out a lot more protein and veggies). I gained confidence in my ability to make a significant lifestyle change with the support and encouragement of a nutrition specialist.
