As a busy college student, Jess has still made her health and fitness a priority in her life! And be sure to read all the way to the end for the fun fact about herself!

My name is Jessica Gottlieb. I am from New York and I am a senior at UW-Madison studying neurobiology on the premedical track.

When I was in high school I played 3 sports. Going into my senior year I tried crossfit and loved it! When I came to college I stopped making time for physical fitness and needed a way to work out that was fun and that made me want to keep going and I found Recursive!

I love the community aspect of Recursive. When you start working out again after a long break it is very stressful. Recursive is an inclusive environment where I felt I was able to have fun and workout! I never hesitate to ask for help or try new things.

My biggest struggle has been gaining the confidence to lift stronger weights. It’s hard to gage whether are not you are ready to increase your weight, but the coaches help give insight into your decision. Also the assault bikes…

My biggest accomplishment since starting my commitment to a lifestyle change was needing to buy smaller jeans!

Recursive has given me knowledge about fitness and nutrition that I can use in everyday life as well as an enjoyable workout experience (which is hard to find!)

My advice is it’s not as scary as it looks! CrossFit is for everyone and it is an amazing workout that makes you feel strong and accomplished after!

Something else fun about myself is that I am a triplet!
