Whew, I am not even sure where to begin with this one. I had to seriously dig around a bit as I tried to decide if this was an actual diet that people follow or an attempt to troll people and get them riled up! After far too much time looking in dark corners of the internet that I prefer not to be, the verdict is still out…
I have no idea if people are actually eating nothing but meat as their only food source. From a lifestyle perspective this “diet” seem very difficult to pursue. Meat tends to be one of the more expensive things bought at the grocery store, so doing this on a limited budget is going to be difficult, even if you primarily go for the less popular meat choices.
Eating out or at a friend’s house seems like it would be quite difficult and requires a fair amount of pre-planning (and understanding friends).
You are also missing all of the vitamins and minerals that you would normally get from vegetables and fruit. Not that you can’t get some of these from meat as well as supplements, but that is going to add to the cost of something that will already be pretty expensive.
It is a lot to ask one specific food group (all meat or all vegetables) to provide you with all of your nutrition, macronutrient, micronutrient, and caloric needs. A balanced variety of foods from different food groups will usually be a better choice.
Overall, I am not sure about the cost benefit analysis on this one. There seems to be quite a bit of work needed to maintain this diet, and I am not sure if there are any real tangible benefits from this as opposed to a lower carb diet.
