I was a cheerleader for over 10 years; however, after graduating high school, I did not know what to do to stay physically active. My mom had joined a CrossFit gym and would tell me about some of the workouts she would do. When I heard about Murph (1 mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 pushups, 300 air squats, 1 mile run), I was really interested. Out of curiosity, I finally decided to come with her to try it out, and she brought me to a few classes with her. I had never done anything so challenging before, and I immediately fell in love with CrossFit.
After coming to college and moving away from home, I struggled to change up my workouts and really missed being in a group class. My sophomore year, I decided to change that and looked for a gym to join. I discovered Recursive, and after just one class, I knew I had found exactly what I was looking for! Everyone was welcoming and supportive, and there was great energy at the gym.
I will be a senior at UW-Madison this fall studying kinesiology. I believe that movement is medicine, and coaching at Recursive has allowed me to combine my love for physical activity with being able to help others. I am so proud to be part of such an amazing community!
