Yesterday, we gave you a great list of reasons and uses for some personal training time with a Coach. If yesterday’s reasons weren’t quite enough to convince you of the value – we have some bonus reasons for you today!
Safety Concerns During COVID
The global pandemic doesn’t seem to be going away very quickly. But research has shown that working out is one of the best things you can do right now – both for your mental and physical well being.
“Fitness centers are needed now more than ever to help us stay active and maintain a healthy immune system,” said Robert Sallis, M.D. with Kaiser Permanente. “COVID-19 risk factors haven’t changed since the pandemic began – obesity, heart disease, lung disease and diabetes put you at much higher risk for both short- and long-term complications. It’s imperative that we all make real change now to stay healthy given that exercise is an essential part of life.”
Now, more than ever, working out is important. COVID-19 is still an issue we are facing. But new data in a national study is showing that there is no evidence of COVID-19 spread in gyms.
“Of More than 49.4 Million Health Club Visits, Only 0.0023 Percent Tested Positive for COVID-19 – More than 500 Times Less than the Current Estimated U.S. National Average.”
Working out is important. It always has been. And data is showing that maintaining a healthy weight, lowering blood pressure, and keeping blood sugar in check is important for a healthy immune system – which is what will help prevent and fight off COVID.
“Access to fitness centers is key to keeping Americans healthy. Physical activity plays an important role in not only maintaining a healthy immune system, but reducing COVID-19 risk factors such as obesity, heart disease, lung disease and diabetes.”
We are doing everything we can to make sure your time at Recursive is safe – from both injuries and germs (like COVID-19). You can read all about our Safety Procedures.
But, we also realize that these days things are scary. There is a lot unknown. We truly believe that we can keep people safe in the gym in our small group classes. BUT, we also want to make sure to continue to help people with their fitness if they aren’t comfortable being in indoor spaces with small groups of people right now. We get it. And that’s why Personal Training can be a really great option.
Your trainer can teach you new things.
It’s great to have fun and try some new things – maybe tumbling or some gymnastic movements. Even movements like power and Olympic lifting that maybe you never even knew you wanted to know how to do! You will even take home some movements and workouts you can do at home in between your personal sessions.
Your trainer will also become your sounding board.
Something about having your trainer see you at your most vulnerable in the middle of a workout just makes you want to get all sorts of things off your chest. Sometimes life around you affects our workout at the gym. It’s good for you to tell your trainer what is going on.
If you need to work out some frustration, maybe a heavy, fast paced workout will help. Your mood will affect your workout performance and your trainer needs to know what is going on so they can best help you work through stuff AND get a good workout on that day. With a Personal Trainer, each workout is geared for you.
Your trainer will help you get over your fears.
Whether real or imagined, we all have fears. It might be the fear of being inverted in a handstand, or maybe it’s a fear of lifting heavy weights, or maybe that 20” box seems like a mountain to you. Sometimes we can be our worst enemy and facing change isn’t easy.
Having the extra support to guide you and lean on can give you the confidence that you need. You should never stop pushing your limits. Growth only happens outside of your comfort zone!
