Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I’m originally from the Detroit area. I am a recent college graduate from the University of Alabama. I moved to Madison in July to work for Epic. I love live music, especially electronic music, and being outdoors. I have been consistently doing CrossFit for a little over two years now, but have only been a member of Recursive for three months.
Why did you choose Recursive?
I originally chose Recursive because it is really close to my apartment. I have stuck with Recursive because the coaching and workout programming are 10/10.
What is your favorite thing about working out at Recursive?
My favorite thing about working out at Recursive is the varied workouts. I can expect something different and unique every day, which keeps it fun and challenging.
What was the biggest struggle you’ve had the last few months?
The biggest struggle I have had in the last few months was testing positive for COVID and getting really sick. It has been challenging to get back to my fitness level prior to getting sick.
What is your biggest accomplishment since starting your commitment to a lifestyle change?
A few years ago I was not healthy, physically or mentally. Starting CrossFit was the start to committing to a lifestyle change. My biggest accomplishment is looking and feeling better than I did before. In particular, I have gained about 25 pounds of muscle.
How has Recursive changed your life?
Recursive has changed my life because it has given me the tools to get into a healthy routine moving to a new city. After every workout at Recursive, I feel accomplished.
What advice do you have for people who are nervous to get started?
Just do it. We have one body, so might as well treat it well. Also, it is really nice going to Recursive because you don’t have to worry about what to do for the workout since it is already planned. Also, being with a group of people doing the same workout is very motivating.
What is something else fun you’d like to share about yourself?
Since moving to Madison, I have adopted a rabbit, and I am obsessed with him. I never knew I would be a rabbit guy, but here I am.
