I met Noah in 2018 when I chaperoned a high school trip to Taiwan. I was pleasantly surprised to see him walk through the gym doors this summer!
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
My name is Noah Kohn-Dumbuya, and I am a student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison majoring in Theatre and English and pursuing certificates in East Asian Studies (Korean) and TESOL.
Why did you choose Recursive?
I kept hearing about CrossFit, especially with the CrossFit games being held in Madison this past year. I just wanted to take up a new hobby and get fit, so I googled a gym and came across Recursive.
What is your favorite thing about working out at Recursive?
My favorite thing about working out at Recursive is working with Nikole. We have so much fun talking about random stuff that I forget that I am working out.
What was the biggest struggle you’ve had in the last few months?
In terms of my own fitness, I wanted to have a proper workout routine but was to afraid to fully commit until now.
What is your biggest accomplishment since starting your commitment to a lifestyle change?
I have created the proper workout routine I wished for and have only missed a day for sickness or school purposes. This is the first time I have been committed attending workout sessions.
How has Recursive changed your life?
I feel more awake and more energized. I am not a morning person; however, thanks to having a workout routine every other morning, it energizes me for the day, so I am more awake and ready for class!
What advice do you have for people who are nervous to get started?
Don’t be nervous! Just do it!
What is something else fun you’d like to share about yourself?
I have two cats, Podo (Grape) and Hodu (Walnut.) I love both despite them not loving me back…
