You are about to enter the last few weeks of 2020. I am sure that you are very grateful to leave 2020 behind and start a new year. This past year certainly has been unexpected with the challenges we all faced. A global pandemic, a need for racial equality and changes, and a difficult election.

And now, we are approaching the last few weeks of 2020. Aside from the difficulties of the rest of the year, the holidays can be some of the toughest weeks of any year. Many people struggle during this time of year with stress, anxiety, and depression in a good year, let alone a year that was tough for everyone.

This year has been tough. We understand. So, let’s make a plan to send out 2020 with a good kick in the pants! Let’s end the year in a way you can be proud!

Schedule exercise.
Look at the next few weeks and schedule at least 3 workouts per week. Staying active is not only great for staying on track with body composition goals but is a great way to combat seasonal depression and the stress of the holidays.

Log your food.
Logging your food is a great way to stay accountable to eating healthy foods. You can even pre-log your food at the beginning of your day or the day before if you know that you may be facing extra temptations. Going into a stressful event like a holiday gathering with a plan for success is a great way to stay on track.

Enlist the help of an accountability partner.
We all need that person that holds up accountable to our goals and helps us from derailing. Grab a friend, partner, co-worker, or gym buddy.

The last few weeks of the year are busy. There are some holidays and special events coming up. Acknowledge and plan for them, but remember that these are just one day, and many are just one meal of one day. You do not need to completely derail you from your health and wellness goals.

If you need help to stay on track and accountable to your goals, reach out for support. Let’s be our best selves as we wrap up 2020! Don’t wait until 2021 to make your health and wellness goals a priority!
